Professional Development

Hi, I’m Shera.
I am an educator who is excited about teaching and learning. I started teaching in 2007 and quickly knew I had "made it" when I got my first nickname, Mrs. Razz. It has stuck with me ever since. I have taught at the middle school and high school level, which has given me a clear picture of the vertically-aligned, essential skills that students need the most at the secondary level.
During my years in the classroom, I worked at two different Title 1 schools, both at one point placed in improvement-required status by the state, and learned firsthand how to harness my creativity to design instructional materials that move the needle on student achievement.
Currently, I am a reading language arts instructional specialist in Texas and get to experience the best of both worlds by working with teachers and students on a daily basis. I have a bachelor's degree in English and a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction. Through my years of experience leading professional development and testing out lessons in real time, I am continuously honing my craft.
Building experiences takes time, and I give that time back to teachers by designing custom-made content. Most importantly, I am a lifelong-learner, reader, and classroom dazzler. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, dogs, and one outdoor cat in our small hometown.
